Michael Holzman is a founding member of Holzman Horner PLLC. Michael counsels owners of closely held businesses with liquidity strategies and business succession planning. He focuses his practice on matters involving employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and other qualified retirement plans.
Michael is also a Senior Managing Director of AmbroseAdvisors™, a middle-market investment bank and financial advisory firm advising business owners with business succession planning, liquidity strategies and capital placements.
Prior to co-founding Holzman Horner PLLC, Michael was a member of the federal taxation and employee benefits groups in the Washington, D.C. office of an AmLaw 200 law firm.
Michael received his juris doctor cum laude from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law where he served as the note and comment editor on the Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy. He also received his masters of laws in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
Michael is a member of the Legislative and Regulatory Advisory Committee of The ESOP Association and of the National Center for Employee Ownership. Michael frequently lectures and writes on legal and financial issues affecting closely held businesses. In addition, Michael is a member of the American Bar Association, Commonwealth of Virginia Bar Association and District of Columbia Bar Association.
